(SAINT JOHN Monday, August 22, 2011) – Atlantica Centre and Rogers TV are shining a spotlight on local music with the launch of two rocking TV shows this season. The search is on for talented musicians to be featured on the second season of Live in the Studio and on the premier season of Acoustic Alteration. Prizes will also be awarded to the top rated musicians. This is a unique opportunity for New Brunswick artists to showcase themselves and their talents to a large audience. Both shows will air on Rogers Television in New Brunswick initially and will then be available nationally on Rogers On Demand.
Live in the Studio showcases full sized bands performing in a studio setting. All audio is recorded on location and mixed by Atlantica Studios for excellent quality audio production. Each show also features an interview with the performers.
Acoustic Alteration will feature acoustic performances with a twist. All performances will be stripped down to their basic form in an acoustic setting. Each show will feature two artists from different musical genres. After the artists perform their original material solo, they will collaborate, in many cases for the first time, making each episode unique. Both artists will be featured in an interview segment. This show will be taped at Atlantica Studios.
If you’re ready to take your music career to the next level, this is the perfect opportunity. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of music industry experts. Qualifications and evaluation criteria are as follows:
• All material must be original.
• All musical styles will be considered.
• Material will be judged on professional execution and audience appeal.
• For “Acoustic Alteration”, submitted material does not need to be acoustic, but it will be judged on how it can be transformed into an acoustic setting.
• Artists must be available to tape shows in Saint John, NB. Live in the Studio will be taped end of September/beginning of October, while Acoustic Alteration will be taped throughout the fall months.
• Artists will be required to sign a standard release to allow Rogers to broadcast performed music for 12-18 months.
There is no financial compensation for these shows; however the potential public exposure is priceless. In addition, several prize packages will go to the top rated musicians.
1. A three to five minute show highlight reel produced by Rogers TV (Value $3000)
2. $ 1,500.00 worth of recording time at Atlantica Studios
3. A professionally designed press kit, designed from scratch (Value $ 1,000)
4. A professional evaluation session, during which of all marketing materials, CDs and songs will be looked at by industry professionals, who will then give career advice. (Value $ 750.00)
All of these packages have been especially designed to help musicians take their career to the next level.
Submission to the Open Call is free and can be done in one of two ways:

Chase signs another deal
Fresh on the heels of having signed a 10 year, 3 album deal for 39 countries with AGR/Universal Europe last week, Canadian Country Rocker Kevin Chase has signed another deal, this time with Wind Mobile and it’s parent affiliates. The agreement covers ringtones, full tracks, ringback tones, rifftones, monotones, polytones, mp3/Truetones, animations, video clips, wallpapers, such as album artwork and artist pictures, java/mobile games, and applications.
“In today’s society, a successful artist has to be available to the fan base on all fronts,” says Chase, “and I am excited to be bringing the Kevin Chase experience to a whole new level through Wind.”
Chase continues to work on the first video for the European release of the album “Hold On Tight”, which will hit store shelves there this summer.

Hamburg, Germany/ Saint John, NB, Canada: After signing a deal with Interscope/Universal U.S. last fall, the news for Kevin Chase keeps on getting better. It was announced in Hamburg, Germany this morning that Kevin Chase is bringing his latest collection of songs to European audiences with the multi-national release of “Hold On Tight” through AGR Television Records/Universal.
The album contains 14 songs, 8 of which were penned by Kevin Chase himself.
“I am extremely excited to be working with AGR to introduce my music to new audiences,” says Chase. “We have had a lot of great international feedback to the new album through the internet, but now we can reach people on a much larger scale.”
Kevin Chase is no stranger to working hard to bring his music to the people, having performed at many prestigious festivals and clubs, making national TV appearances, releasing two critically acclaimed albums, receiving award nominations and two Top 40 hits, all in his native Canada. “I can’t wait to be touring in Europe and to meet many of the fans that have contacted me online and a whole pile of new ones. Connecting with the fans is what it is all about for me, so I will keep my suitcases ready to go,” he elaborates with his signature smile.
An introductory first single “Outta Sight Outta Mind” will be sent in advance to country radio stations in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands and England by the end of April. The album “Hold On Tight” will be available in stores and for download in the second half of 2011 and will eventually be released to all 39 countries covered by this deal.
“Hold On Tight” is a re-branding of Chase’s latest album, previously known as “Round 3”. “The label felt that the title may be confusing to the people in Europe and the Middle East,” explains Chase. “My first 2 albums did not get released over there, so we want to start fresh.” The album was recorded at Atlantica Studios in Saint John, NB and was produced by Chase, Marc Gosselin and Jim Kuehnel. Some additional production work, as well as the mixing of some of the singles and mastering was done by Anthony Little of Nashville, whose previous work includes Reba McEntire, Justin Timberlake and Tina Turner.
“We are very excited for Kevin as well as our studio,” says Atlantica General Manager and Chase manager Jim Kuehnel. “We spent 16 months recording this great album and paid pain staking attention to every detail, because we wanted to create an album with international production standards. We knew that we had great material that needed to sound as good as anything coming out of Nashville or L.A. in order to be taken seriously around the globe. With AGR, we have found a great team that believes in Kevin Chase as much as we do and we are looking forward to working closely with them in the years to come,” says Kuehnel.
Chase is currently preparing to shoot his first video for the album release. “The concept is coming together nicely,” says Kevin. “There are a few more location details to be ironed out and then we are ready to go. It will be a blast.”
Canadian Country fans will be able to see Kevin Chase live at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in P.E.I. on July 8th with Johnny Reid, Ricky Skaggs and Australia’s Jetty Road.

Kevin Chase signs with Interscope/Universal U.S.
On the eve of the American Thanksgiving weekend, New Brunswick recording artist Kevin Chase has been signed to the U.S. division of Interscope/Universal.
“I am very excited to be part of the Universal family,” says Chase, “and even more excited to be making some inroads into the American market.”
Responses to Kevin Chase’s new album “Round 3” from international industry professionals have been very positive from the start. The public also responded very well to the new songs. When “Round 3” was independently released this July, Kevin spent 45 consecutive days at # 1 on the Canadian My Space Charts in 2 categories: Indie Country Artist & Overall Country Artist, which includes major label acts. During the same time, Kevin continuously was in the Top 5 songs and was rated the #1 artist in all genres numerous times.
Internationally, he spent the same time frame in the Indie Country Top 20, peaking twice at #9. On the Global Overall Country Top 100, which includes all major label artists, he peaked at #51.
After 3 albums, a couple of Canadian Top 40 hits, national tours and TV appearances, becoming a Universal recording artist is another notch in Kevin Chase’s belt on the road to success, but he knows that it is simply another beginning. “The real work starts now,” he says. “This deal will open some new doors for me, that’s for sure. But it is hard work, determination and delivering the goods that will get me to go further. I am ready for the challenge.”
************************
Interscope Records is an American record label, owned by Universal Music Group, and operates as one third of UMG’s Interscope-Geffen-A&M label group. Interscope was formed in 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field with financial support from Atlantic Records (which owned a 53% stock in the label). Upon its launch, it was initially distributed by Atlantic Records’ subsidiary East West Records America. A&R Executive John McClain and producer Beau Hill were also part of the original founding team.
Universal Music Group is the largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry. It is the largest of the “big four” record companies by its commanding market share and its multitude of global operations. Universal Music Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of international French media conglomerate Vivendi.
Universal Music Group owns a music publisher, Universal Music Publishing Group, which became the world’s largest following the acquisition of BMG Music Publishing in May 2007.
Vivendi’s headquarters are in Paris, France. The UMG global headquarters are located New York City. Other major offices are located in Universal City and Santa Monica, along with Universal Music Group Nashville in Nashville; in the UK the group has a number of offices in London and Romford, and in Japan the group has a office in Minato, Tokyo.
Kevin Chase is living proof that hard work and determination will yield results.
For the past 10 years, he has travelled Canada, performed at many prestigious festivals and clubs,
made national TV appearances, released two critically acclaimed albums, received ECMA nominations and had 2 Top 40 hits. Not too shabby for a regular guy from New Brunswick, Canada.
2009 brought a lot of excitement to the Chase camp. A new management company developed a new global vision and Kevin went to work on writing and recording new songs for his third album. Songs by established writers were also looked at to round out the concept and vision.
A conscious decision was also made not to rush the recording process and Anthony Little, who has worked with the likes of Tina Turner, Reba McIntyre, Justin Timberlake and 90 Degrees was brought in to mix some of the potential singles and master the project.
16 months later, the new Kevin Chase album “Round 3” was released on Canada Day 2010.
“Round 3” is a testament to the growth of Kevin Chase as a songwriter, musician, artist and performer. The 14 tracks keep the listener on the edge of their seat, while no less than 4 singles have great international cross-over potential.
The power of the internet proved to be a major bonus prior to and immediately after the release date with thousands of Kevin Chase fans visiting his new My Space site. Kevin spent 45 consecutive days at # 1 on the Canadian My Space Charts in 2 categories: Indie Country Artist & Overall Country Artist, which includes major label acts.
The best part of it all is the artist himself: Kevin Chase not only has a fantastic and recognizable voice, he is the type of person that the everyday man and woman on the street can relate to.
There are no frills here, what you see is what you get.
Kevin Chase is ready to take on the world with “Round 3” and he is just the type of artist that fans have been waiting for. Why don’t you join him for the ride…
